"Hi Cayce, I really appreciate you joining in the conversation. And, I am ecstatic that you have read my book! It humbles me, truly, that you kept reading even after the first half made you upset. You, too, have a very unique perspective on the…"

"Hi Dave and Athina, Thanks for your posts and understanding. My book does not come from the Moroccan propaganda machine as one might think. I found this amazing story on my own and realized that the issue is basically "hashooma" or a…"

Thomas Hollowell replied to davetreemonkey's discussion UN role in saharawi`s lives
"Hi Dave, Very true. I do not want our attitudes to get in the way of dialogue. Sorry to be in such defense, Athina. I really would like to learn more about the Saharawis plight. As I mentioned, what I know deals with the Moroccan POWs and such,…"

"Hi Stephan, Thanks so much for your response. And, the book has been talked about on pro-Moroccan Sites, which is fine as the subject matter is from their perspective. I have also voiced my own opinions / thoughts (which surprisingly have evolved…"

Thomas Hollowell replied to davetreemonkey's discussion UN role in saharawi`s lives
"To tell you the truth, they do not really have that much of a role. From my experiences, it seems that it is a slight political fascade and those living in WS or held in the camps are not given much say. Why don't we hear their voices? Also,…"

Thomas Hollowell replied to Stefan Simanowitz's discussion How can you help Aminatou and the Human Rights Defenders?
"Thanks for all of this information. It is very helpful. I do wish Morocco would give people more freedom in voicing their concern. It is a good way to open up debate and allow the movement of ideas. I personally have seen the benefit of Morocco in…"

New Book about Western Sahara

Hello Everyone,I was happy to happen upon this site. I am interested in exchanging ideas about Western Sahara. I have lived and worked in Morocco for a long time. I started out as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I now run an online travel guide and am an author with two books to my name (along with magazine articles in several prominent publications). In any regard, I wanted to let you know of my new book, entitled, Allah's Garden: A True Story of…See More

Hey Thomas, I have just finished your book, Allah's Garden, and was pretty fascinated by it! I spent some time in the camps doing research and have worked for Australia Western Sahara Association. All the information I find on the issue from the Moroccan side of the conflict tends to be very biased so I was thrilled to find a book written by someone NOT from Morocco who had a first hand view of that side of the berm. I'd love to talk to you more about what you've seen and learned as I will be leaving California soon to pursue a master's degree in Human Rights in the UK.
